Welcome to
Bishop Carpenter Church of England Primary School

In being rooted in knowing we are all loved by God, we are then able to be more aware of our God given wings to fly and to flourish, to bear fruit in our lives, fruit of the Holy Spirit, fruit that will last. (John 15 v16)
We want our children to grow by being contemplative, compassionate and courageous
Hello and welcome to Class 1 - A Reception class where we learn through play. We follow the children's interests and the classroom is theirs to learn, play and grow.
This term we are learning all about ourselves. We have been thinking about our appearance and describing our features. We have been thinking about where we live and what our houses, villages and towns look like. We have learnt all about our bodies and the names of the main bones in our skeletons. We will also be learning about Autumn and noticing the seasonal changes.
We go out into our local environment as much as possible with trips to our local farm for a Harvest day, walks in the village and seasonal walks to notice the changes in seasons.
Our learning is focused around stories. We love reading. Read, Write, Inc as our phonics scheme and we love learning our phonemes in this way.
Year 6 are our 'Buddies' and we have a very special connection with them. We spend lots of time sharing our learning with them in class and at breaktimes. They are very responsible and grown up!
Class 1 is so much fun!
